Title: Chapter 1: Something That You Said's Burning In My Head

I reviewed earlier you deleted it. Either you did not like what I had to say or I wasnt logged in.Well Im logged in now. I've read your story and I have to say youre being too harsh on Kag and too lenient on Yash.He seriously should get railed on more. He's coming across as hypocritical and selfish. He 's angry with her because she let Kouga keep the shards while conviniently ignoring that he did the same with kikyou. And that came back to bite him in the ass later when she gave the Jewel to Naraku. Your lame asertion that Kagome returning home leads to people being killed is utterly weak.Kikyo's utter stupidity with deciding to randomly handover a Dangerous jewel to a demon she did not really trust is even more irresponsible. But being the Kikyo fan you are youre not going to mention that. The overrated moron did it twice. The first time with Inuyasha and the second time with Naraku. A lot of innocent people were killed by his incarnations.Inuyasha forgave her for that and he cant forgive those who actually stood by him? What a hypocrite! And whats so wrong with wanting to be treated with some decency for once. They stay by him through everything and forgave some of his more bone headed moves. They let a hanyou be their leader .JUST BECAUSE HE HAS FRIENDS DOES NOT MEAN HE CAN TREAT THEM LIKE THE DUST UNDER HIS FEET.HE HAS IMPECCABLE MANNERS WHEN IT COMES TO KIKYO MAY BE IF HE HAD SPARED SOME OF THAT FOR THEM THEY WOULDNT HAVE TO RESORT TO THE HERBS. And whats so wrong with Kagome wanting to do everything she can to prepare a future for herself in her own world. With the abyssimal way inuyasha treats her she has no hope of a place in the past .At the end she cant sacrifice everything for nothing! INUYASHA HAS BROKEN HER TRUST AND ABANDONED HER(SOMETIMES TO HER DEATH )COUNTLESS TIMES AND SHE HAS TO DEPEND ON HIM BECAUSE SHE HAS NO ONE ELSE IN THIS ALIEN WORLD SHES LANDED IN.AND THE WORST PART IS THE MESS WITH THE JEWEL ISNT EVEN HER FAULT! As for every kagbashers favourite_the sit command.Inuyasha has enough warning about what kind of behaviour entails it.If he still wants to risk it and  get on poor Kagome's nerves then hes the idiot.I JUST HATE IT WHEN THEY TAKE THIS HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION pov IN FANFICS LIKE INUYASHA'S SOME KIND OF SAINT WHO WOULD NEVER HURT A FLY.IF YOURE WRITING SOMETHING AT LEAST TRY TO PORTRAY HIS LESS THAN HONORABLE AND WONDERFUL SIDE.IT IS A PART OF HIM.IN MANY WAYS OF ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE INUTACHI HE IS THE ONE WITH THE LEAST HONOUR DECENCY OR AT LEAST A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Author's Response:

First things first, I have never in my life deleted a review for reasons other than someone posting a duplicate. If you left a review here and it's gone, it either didn't go through or it got gobbled up somehow. Second, rude much? Now to respond to the points you've brought up:

"I've read your story and I have to say youre being too harsh on Kag and too lenient on Yash.He seriously should get railed on more. He's coming across as hypocritical and selfish. He 's angry with her because she let Kouga keep the shards while conviniently ignoring that he did the same with kikyou. And that came back to bite him in the ass later when she gave the Jewel to Naraku."

Right here, I'm starting to have doubts that you actually read the story. Or maybe the rage goggles obscured things for you. He's not mad at her for letting Kouga keep the shards; yes, it annoyed him at the beginning of the story, and he gave her that lecture ten chapters or so later after finding out they basically replaced him with Kouga, but that was when he was already angry with them. What he's mad about is that his friends spiked his food with mind altering drugs. They messed with his brain, that's why he's so upset with them. That's what this story is, what would happen if his friends did this terrible thing to him.

But while we're on the subject, Kouga and Kikyou are apples and oranges. When Kagome let Kouga keep his shards it was right after they'd come across the village he sicced his wolves on, killing everyone that lived there. He kidnapped her, threatened to eat Shippou, and basically hadn't done anything to prove he had a conscience or even felt guilt over massacring an entire village. Yet she let him his shards because... she's Kagome and sometimes does weird things. To contrast that, Inuyasha knew Kikyou very well, he knew that she wasn't deliberately genocidal, and he knew she had a plan. You're right that what Kikyou did is a lot worse than what Kouga did, and caused untold problems, what with Kagura, Kanna, Goshinki, etc. Besides, it's not like he could track Kikyou down after she stole the shards, since Kagome decided to do the dumbest thing possible and refused to tell him what happened

"Your lame asertion that Kagome returning home leads to people being killed is utterly weak.Kikyo's utter stupidity with deciding to randomly handover a Dangerous jewel to a demon she did not really trust is even more irresponsible. But being the Kikyo fan you are youre not going to mention that. The overrated moron did it twice. The first time with Inuyasha and the second time with Naraku. A lot of innocent people were killed by his incarnations."

Are you seriously going to try to argue that Kagome splitting her time between school and the shard hunt doesn't lead to people being killed? That making Inuyasha and the others sit on their asses for days on end while every power hungry demon and human in Japan is also collecting shards didn't contribute to the body count? Yes, school is important, especially in Japan, but how much faster do you think their quest would have ended if she'd just dedicated all of her time to hunting for the shards? Potentially if she does that, the Thunder Brothers don't get their shards and kill Shippou's father. The slayer's village doesn't house all those shards that made Naraku attack them. Maybe the Peach Man doesn't eat so many people. So yes, she made a choice, and because of that there's the potential that people died. It isn't as direct as Kikyou's fault, but it is there.

And let me share something else with you; I'm not a Kikyou fan, other than as a plot device. The reason I don't bring up the incarnations being her fault in the story is that she's not a major enough character; she's the exposition, hence why she gets killed once she's done doing the information dump thing.

"Inuyasha forgave her for that and he cant forgive those who actually stood by him? What a hypocrite!"

Of course he forgave her. He forgives everyone, except for Naraku. Shippou stole their shards and trapped him with a statue, leading to Kagome being kidnapped by implied rapists; Miroku kidnapped Kagome and tried to kill him, as well as being a scam artist in general. Sango tried to kill him, then stole Tessaiga and gave it to Naraku. Inuyasha forgave them all pretty quickly. He instantly forgave Kikyou when he found out her side of the story, and she pretty much put him in a coma. And again, in this story they messed with his brain and free will.

"And whats so wrong with wanting to be treated with some decency for once. They stay by him through everything and forgave some of his more bone headed moves. They let a hanyou be their leader .JUST BECAUSE HE HAS FRIENDS DOES NOT MEAN HE CAN TREAT THEM LIKE THE DUST UNDER HIS FEET.HE HAS IMPECCABLE MANNERS WHEN IT COMES TO KIKYO MAY BE IF HE HAD SPARED SOME OF THAT FOR THEM THEY WOULDNT HAVE TO RESORT TO THE HERBS."

There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to be treated decently, but that doesn't mean you get to drug someone to make them act the way you want. Deciding that someone's not acting "right" and messing with their brain chemistry to correct that is a horrible thing to do to anyone, but especially someone you consider a close friend. Even more so when it's done without their consent. And what on Earth has he done that requires forgiveness from them? He's never really wronged Sango, Miroku, or Shippou. You could argue that going off to Kikyou hurts Kagome and he needs Kagome's forgiveness for that; and to be fair she gives it freely anyway. But that doesn't carry very much water considering Kagome doesn't have the stones to just talk to him about how much it bothers her. If she's just going let him go off and just do her usual passive-aggressive crap for days on end, that sort of takes away her righteous indignation. It seems to me that Miroku et al treat him more like crap than vice versa, especially when they talk about how much of an idiot he is over Kikyou behind his back.

And guess what? If you want Inuyasha ridden over how stupid he is with Kikyou, that's fine and perfectly valid. But you also have to do the same with Sango. As far as they knew, Kohaku was dead without that shard, and Sango spends her time trying to save her brother (much like Inuyasha wants to protect Kikyou); falls into Naraku's traps, and hands over the equivalent of a demonic A-bomb to the same dangerous demon you're condemning Kikyou for giving the shards to, but nobody holds any of that against her. Not like they hold Kikyou against Inuyasha anyway.

"And whats so wrong with Kagome wanting to do everything she can to prepare a future for herself in her own world. With the abyssimal way inuyasha treats her she has no hope of a place in the past .At the end she cant sacrifice everything for nothing!"

There's nothing wrong with Kagome preparing a future for herself. In face, the only part that brings that point up is when a curse that makes any latent guilt she feels come to the surface is placed on her. The fact that it comes up at all is just showing that she's not selfish or stupid. She realises on some level what her choice to balance school with saving the world means, and the curse reflected that.

"INUYASHA HAS BROKEN HER TRUST AND ABANDONED HER(SOMETIMES TO HER DEATH )COUNTLESS TIMES AND SHE HAS TO DEPEND ON HIM BECAUSE SHE HAS NO ONE ELSE IN THIS ALIEN WORLD SHES LANDED IN.AND THE WORST PART IS THE MESS WITH THE JEWEL ISNT EVEN HER FAULT!"

Inuyasha has broken her trust? Well maybe if she ever sat down with him and talked about her expectations with the whole Kikyou thing. But since she never did, it's unfair to hold that against him. Now, the constant put downs, sure, he's an asshole for that. But then again, she gives better than she gets, even if it's not as often. She's practically made Inuyasha catatonic with casual insults.

But please, the jewel shattering isn't her fault? So she just accidently wandered alone and unarmed into the forest with a jewel that Kaede warned her every evil thing in the country was after? She absolutely couldn't have foreseen that something bad (like getting kidnapped by bandits) would happen? You don't think she shoulders the blame for deciding that blindly trying to find her way home was more important than heeding the warnings she was given? That she couldn't possibly wait for Kaede and the villagers to escort her safely? She acted rashly and stupidly, and shattered the jewel as a consequence.

"As for every kagbashers favourite_the sit command.Inuyasha has enough warning about what kind of behaviour entails it.If he still wants to risk it and  get on poor Kagome's nerves then hes the idiot.I JUST HATE IT WHEN THEY TAKE THIS HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION pov IN FANFICS LIKE INUYASHA'S SOME KIND OF SAINT WHO WOULD NEVER HURT A FLY."

As for every youngish Kagfan's favourite: not completely excusing Kagome's every action and sometimes putting her at fault makes you a basher because nuance doesn't exist. But that is an interesting POV you have there; does that mean if you say things that get on your poor boyfriend's nerves that he gets to slap, punch, or throw you around? And that you're the idiot for risking it? Because that is frightening. The beads were legitimately needed (and used) at the beginning as protection, but as time went on Inuyasha wasn't trying to kill Kagome anymore, and she started using it to correct his behaviour. See it doesn't matter if he's a saint who wouldn't hurt a fly, or the douchiest douchebag from Doucheslyvania, it's still not OK to do that. He's a grown man and she's not his parent nor does she have any sort of authourity over him; she doesn't have the right to correct him, and she especially doesn't have the right to do it violently like the does.

I also notice you've left out the good I wrote her doing; like how her and Sango stand up and threaten Kouga for smacking around Toshio, how she jumped in to save Inutaisho when crazy nameless guy was choking him, how she (and everyone) rushes to Inuyasha's aid when she sees the zombie attack.

"IF YOURE WRITING SOMETHING AT LEAST TRY TO PORTRAY HIS LESS THAN HONORABLE AND WONDERFUL SIDE.IT IS A PART OF HIM.IN MANY WAYS OF ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE INUTACHI HE IS THE ONE WITH THE LEAST HONOUR DECENCY OR AT LEAST A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY"

Uh, I have shown his less than wonderful side. Did you just skip the part where I had him turn his back on a village that was going crazy and killing itself? Or where he was ready to strangle Kagome with his bare hands? But you're right, he's the least honourable and decent member of his group. After all, he's never blackmailed anyone, kidnapped anyone, stolen anything (other than the jewel in the prologue), exploited people's religious beliefs for personal gain, condoned said exploitation, accidently made someone fall out of a tree or off a building and laughed it off, played passive aggressive mind games, talked behind his friends' back, eavesdropped unless he's been dragged into it by someone else, or tried to give his friend's family heirloom to their worst enemy.

But he has refused to stop protecting his ex-fiancee, and that's just terrible.
