Disclaimer: I do not own INUYASHA or any of its characters. It belongs to RUMIKO TAKAHASHI
Hiding behind silver hair
and a tough guy smirk
is the small child
weeping at his mother's grave.
Sometimes, she watches him
when he thinks no one is looking,
and sees the child within
struggling with his shadows,
and longs to make him whole.
Yes, he knows fully well the need to strike first,
because the cost of life requires it,
this hard carving out of a place of his own
between two worlds,
and yet, in his loneliness.
remembers the feel of a time
where there was love and acceptance.
Sometimes, when he thinks no one is looking,
he wonders how this small, great-hearted girl
awakens the touch of that time
deep within his heart,
and makes the thought a strength,
not a fear.
Sometimes, they both wish
they knew how to say
just what they felt.
