...When all the world has gone to sleep...
Kagome couldn't sleep. Buyo was curled up against her belly, shaking. Something was wrong.
...The hunters to the forest creep…
She couldn’t shake the feeling of being…hunted. She’d had this feeling, many times before when she was shard-hunting in the feudal era, but here? In the modern era?!
...From out the wild wood comes the call…
A howl ripped through the night. Buyo screamed; Kagome burrowed deeper into her bed. This wasn’t right!
Light spilled onto her bedroom floor, the full moon leaching all color from everything. The silver rays caressed what could be seen of Kagome’s form.
..."The hunt is life ... the hunt is all ..."
A growl reaches her ears. She covers them in vain. Louder it gets. Louder, louder until finally it cuts off. Then, the tapping starts.
“Why did I stay home alone?” she whispered.
Dark laughter is her answer.
Well? What do you think?

Kagome curled into an even tighter ball, if that was even possible. Her hair spread in a halo about her, and Buyo burrowed more against her belly. That sick, twisted laughter, so like that of The Spider's....Could it be? After all of this time?
In an apartment, a tall male, once known as InuYasha, stalks anxiously.
...An ancient forest beckons me...
The full moon summons her children to come, come and hunt beneath her. Tonight is Hunt Night.
...To run skyclad amoungst the trees...
The males' gaze snaps to the window, in the direction of the Sunset Shrine, the home of his female. Something is wrong.
Quick as a flash, he is out the door, and on the way.
Kagome quickly takes Buyo and hides him under the bed. Whatever this...thing is, she is going to have to fight it. And fight it she will.
She stands before her closet, and upon opening it, retrieves her bow and arrows. She dons a pair of jeans and a light sweatshirt, as it has begun to rain.
Pulling on the hood, she begins the trek downstairs.
She opens her door slowly. Slipping outside, she shuts it sliently. Padding down the hallway, she strains to hear whatever is haunting her.
She screams and falls to the floor when she feels someone shove her. But upon turning, there is no one there!
Shaking, she rises. She clutches her bow and takes a steadying breath.
"I do not fear you!" She cries to the night.
A cold wind brushes her cheek. Then there is a stinging pain.
"Foolish child." Says a voice.
Kagome bolts down the stairs, outside into the pouring rain.
"SHOW YOURSELF COWARD." An icy wind blasts her, chilling her to the bone.
"Little child....You have the audacity to call ME a coward?"
Kagome stands as tall as she can. "Yes! Because real men don't pick on girls!"
Before her forms a male.
Her glows with a silver light. His garments are that of the feudal era.
His hair is a deep, rich blue. On his forehead beneath fluffy bangs lies a marking of a dark gray water droplet. His eyes are the deepest gray, with silver undertones. He stands at least 6 feet 2 inches tall. His face is very handsome as daiyoukai normally are, but his beauty was marred by the rage that had twisted his face into an ugly mask.
"You say I pick on you? I am getting my revenge, little child priestess." He snarls.
Kagome looks taken aback. Never before has she seen this dai in her life, and he is getting revenge? On HER?
"You don't remember? I suppose it must have slipped you mind. After all I was just another demon who fell into your trap, wasn't I?"
"What are you talking about? What trap?"
His eyes meet hers; they dance with fury.
"You killed me on upon our mating ceremony."
