1. Helping Her Through by SakuraRyuu
Kagome turned her head to look at her mate and held a weak hand out to him. "InuYasha, help me. I can't do this without you."
He was at Kagome's side instantly, taking the place of the village woman behind her. InuYasha rested Kagome between his bent knees, her back against his chest.
"InuYasha, she has no strength left and the child is resting in her opening. You have to help her push it out." InuYasha nodded to Kaede in understanding. He whispered encouragement and love in Kagome's ear while holding her hand, preparing her to finish delivering their child.
When Kaede said push, he helped Kagome bend forward while the village woman pressed firmly on the top of her belly to force the infant down. InuYasha was gentle but diligent in his duty and a short while later he watched his first child be born. With his mate's permission he laid her back to rest while Kaede set about cleaning her abused body. InuYasha gently took the swaddled infant from the village woman's arms and stared, his characteristic smirk on his lips. First, he rubbed the silver puppy ears. He gently cracked both tiny eyes open to see if they were the same color as his; they were. He counted every finger and toe, then looking at Kaede as if for permission, he peaked under the blanket to see if he had a boy or a girl.
With his mate sleeping next to him, InuYasha held his newborn son. Feeling the love and pride in his family overflow, he knew this was the most precious moment in his life.
