Prompt:
There are a billion people in China. It's not easy to be an individual in a crowd of more than a billion people. Even if you're a one-in-a-million type of guy, there are still a thousand guys exactly like you. - A. Whitney Brown, "The Big Picture"

The girls were sitting Indian style in the soft grass under Goshinboku enjoying the lovely, spring afternoon. The sakura trees were in bloom, lacing the air with their fragrance. Kagome was scratching her rounded belly lazily, which seemed to be stretched to capacity so late in her pregnancy. She knew walking was good for her and the day was too beautiful to pass up. After convincing InuYasha and Shippou she still needed exercise and a walk wouldn't hurt her or the pup, Shippou had gone off to get Miroku and Sango. Once arrangements had been made for their children, the group had walked to Goshinboku. Sango picked a soft patch of grass in the shade to rest on and InuYasha had helped ease Kagome down to the ground, making her as comfortable as possible. As soon as the girls were settled Miroku, InuYasha and Shippou immediately got into a huddle just out of earshot from the women, whispering. It reminded Kagome of a football huddle. She giggled to herself at the thought.

"Sango, what do you think they're plotting and whispering about?"

"I don't know, Kagome, but they look very excited about it, do they not?"

Both girls eyed the small group of men suspiciously.

Without warning the huddle broke. Shippou approached Kagome and Sango while Miroku and InuYasha hung back.

"Kagome, would you like to see my new tricks? I've been practicing them a lot with the village children so I could get them just right to show you."

Kagome agreed and for the next 30 minutes Shippou kept the girls busy with card tricks he had taught himself. It was all the time Miroku and InuYasha needed to sneak off and place a surprise in Kagome and InuYasha's hut. They had just gotten back as Shippou was finishing his last trick.

"InuYasha, where have you been? You missed all of Shippou's card tricks he worked so hard to learn."

"Kagome, InuYasha and I had to attend to the business of men. As some things are knowledge only for women, there are things that men only know, as well."

Kagome knew this statement to be true in the era she now lived in and also knew there was no use in fighting to get an answer. She reached her arms out to InuYasha to help her up and with that the small group was headed back to the village. They said their goodbyes in front of InuYasha and Kagome's hut, allowing the couple to go inside while Miroku and Sango went to get their children. Upon entering the hut Kagome gasped. Their futon was already unrolled and under it was another futon, much thicker than the one above it. Kagome turned to InuYasha.

"You had said your back was hurting you so I had another futon made to go with our original one so you would be more comfortable."

Kagome was touched InuYasha would go to so much trouble for her. She couldn't help but hug him as close as her swollen belly allowed.

"The business of men, huh?" Kagome questioned, looking up at InuYasha.

"Keh. It is the business of men to take care of their one and only mates," InuYasha reached down to rest his hand over her belly, "and their pups."

"Well then, let this mate reward her one and only mate with a bath," Kagome said as she waddled toward their bath house, dropping bits of her clothes along the way.

InuYasha grinned as he rushed up behind her to sweep her off her feet and take care of his one in a million.
